What is Blue Bloodhound?
Blue Bloodhound is an online tool that creates a new way to connect independent, professional (CDL-licensed) drivers with motor carriers who have jobs. This technology empowers CDL drivers by letting them operate as fully independent contractors, experiencing the freedom and flexibility previously reserved for owner-operators. The easy-to-use app simplifies the traditional and often difficult application process by allowing drivers to create a Driver Qualification File as an independent contractor, enabling motor carriers to verify qualified drivers and determine availability in minutes. The intuitive technology serves as a vital connecting piece that expands the database of potential drivers for the carriers while providing drivers with more options for jobs and income as well as greater transparency in compensation structure.
How does it work?
Independent drivers create a live Driver Qualification File, operating as their own boss, while motor carriers post available runs on the site. Drivers apply for the runs or motor carriers can simply search the many available driver profiles themselves. All of this can be done using a smartphone.
Drivers can work when they want, where they want, and for whomever they want. Blue Bloodhound provides the freedom and earnings now experienced by becoming an independent contractor (driver), and we bring that business to them in a simple, streamlined way. They can apply and drive on a moment’s notice, all from their phone, opening the door to so many different opportunities.
Motor carriers can now choose, from their desktop or tablet, drivers in their area to make quick, responsible decisions. They can preview the Driver Qualification File, and if the match is made, start the driver immediately. Once a match between motor carrier and independent driver is made, the driver completes the run and is paid by the motor carrier after simply pressing a button on their smartphone.
How do I get paid?
Carriers post the amount they will pay per run, as well as relevant conditions and details. The payment for each run is clearly stated, with no hidden surprises. After the run is complete, you submit an invoice for processing and receive direct deposit payment to an account of your choosing.
Will it interfere with my regular driving job?
No. You can keep your regular job without any changes. You decide where and when to use Blue Bloodhound. If your regular schedule slows down, you can pick up extra runs. If you want to come off the road to be closer to home, you can find local runs that let you do that. You can work as much or as little as you want through Blue Bloodhound.
How much paperwork is involved?
Very little. Fill out your Driver Qualification File one time as an independent driver and the file is live and visible for all motor carriers to view. You do not have to complete this file every time you want to apply for a run, and it is yours to use and take as you wish. Operating as a contractor eliminates having to repeat this process for every motor carrier. Now you can apply for a run and be approved by the motor carrier to drive immediately.
What sort of driving jobs are available?
Blue Bloodhound is new and growing with runs posted daily throughout the United States. There is no limit or criteria on the types of runs that motor carriers post. From OTR to Local, and specifics within those categories, you can search and select based on exactly what runs you are looking for. You can work when you want, where you want, and for whomever you want… and you can search to find what meets those requirements.
Do I need a truck?
No, you can operate as an independent contractor without owning or leasing a truck. The carrier supplies the truck. You use it for their run, and that’s it. If you own a truck, and operate as an owner- operator, then you of course can use your assets. But if not, Blue Bloodhound does give the driver the freedom and independence of an owner-operator without the requirement of being one.
How much do I have to drive?
It’s up to you. You’re under no obligation to drive at all. We post plenty of jobs; you pick the ones that are right for you. Use Blue Bloodhound as much or as little as you want. Your driver file is always accessible and ready when you want to pick up a run or switch up your schedule.
